We all know that dating can be a little expensive sometimes and that most of the time you go to the cinema, to a coffee shop, to a fast food restaurant, and then again to the cinema, and at that point you feel that you have already seen all the movies in theaters. However, being creative can help us to reverse the situation and arrange a unique date spending only a few soles.
Remember the Latidoamericano urban art festival last month? Well, even though this amazing art festival has finished, the amazing murals still there on the streets of downtown Lima waiting for your visit. Here is what you can do: next Saturday morning try to wear the most comfortable shoes you own, and remember not to carry a big bag, as sometimes Lima downtown can be a little bit dangerous because of the thiefs. Then look at the map below and pick up a route to follow with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Head to Lima downtown and enjoy the art of some of the best urban artists of the world!
I will share with you my route: as I live in Rimac, I started the mural hunting in Alameda Chabuca Granda, then I headed to the first block of Tacna Avenue. Then I took my time to visit the main square, and luckily I got there at midday, so I was able to see the changing of the guard performed by the elegant soldiers who take care of the governmental palace. Then I visited a supermarket located on Cuzco street to buy some water and just across the street there is another mural. And one block away on the same street (Lampa Street) there is yet another. The next spot was ICPNA and, lastly, I decided to go to Roosvelt Avenue. And as I was near Real Plaza, I decided to get there and do some window shopping before returning home.
You can pick up the route you want or the most convenient, according to your time. You can also visit some other places around. I highly recommend an ice cream shop on Jr. De la Uniòn, where you can find unique flavors like Pisco Sour. It’s all up to you! Have a great time and enjoy your date!
