According to Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Donald Trump recently phoned Peru’s President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (PPK) in order to discuss the latest events in corruption and also to embrace the relations between Peru and the US.
Economic growth, bilateral relations, democracy and the humanitarian situation in Venezuela are topics that both presidents are willing to discuss.
Additionally, the Peruvian President has requested that Trump consider deporting the former Peruvian head of state, Alejandro Toledo, back to Peru. There has been no response yet regarding this topic, however, Trump considers that it is necessary to reinforce the strong bilateral ties that exist between the United States and Peru, as reported by Reuters.
This meeting could bring interesting results for both the US and Peru.
