Thirty-three Peruvian enterprises will participate in Biofach 2017 between February 15-18. The participants are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises based in Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huanuco, Junin, Lima, Piura and San Martin. According to Promperú, the Peruvian enterprises are expected to close US$ 58 million in deals as result of their participation in the fair.

Biofach 2016 hosted more than 2,300 exhibitors from 86 countries and welcomed at least 44,000 professionals from 129 nations. This is a big event that gives Peru an excellent opportunity to meet professionals and organic producers from the organic market and be inspired by the sector’s latest trends.

This year, Peru will be presented under the Superfoods Peru brand in a 314-square-meter booth that aims at promoting Peruvian superfoods in international markets. Foreign Trade Deputy Minister Edgar Vasquez will introduce the “Superfoods Peru” brand to international buyers and media to attend the event.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the Peruvian brand will be participating in a European fair; between February 8-10, Superfoods took part in the 25th edition of the Fruit Logistica Fair in Berlin.

Peru is a nation full of ancient foods with a high nutritional value. Superfoods is going to embrace this concept on Biofach 2017 and will display native products such as oils made from sacha inchi, avocado and chestnut; maca; chia; cereals like quinoa, canihua, and kiwicha; amaranth; ginger; avocados; fruits such as lucuma, bananas and passion fruit; granulated cane sugar and cacao, among others.
