The Peruvian Gastronomic Society Apega, organizer of the food fair Mistura, expressed their disapproval of the ad campaign by the telecommunications company Bitel, that’s taken place in the parking lot next to the fair grounds.

Apega indicated through a statement that the parking lots surrounding the grounds are under the administration of the district of Magdalena del Mar, who in turn gave the concession of the space to the company Los Portales.

“Despite the verbal agreement reached at a meeting between Apega and Magdalena, mentioning that the space is used exclusively as a parking lot, this is being used by the company Bitel for promotional purposes, benefiting from the recognition and prestige of Mistura,” the statement reads.

Mistura is sponsored by Claro, a mobile competitor of Bitel.

“Apega acknowledges the free right to advertisers. However, we express our disapproval by Bitel’s advertising, located in the parking area next to the fair, as this has not been agreed nor consulted with us,” the statement concluded.

They asked for the entity to respect good business practices and to maintain an atmosphere of respect.

It should also be noted that the institution does not benefit in any way from the parking fees collecting in the lots next to the fair.
