Mistura is known as one of the major events of the year in Peru and every year it grows bigger and bigger. In order to alleviate stress from drivers, the gastronomic event is planning to expand the parking spaces.
Approximately a million soles will be inverted by the Municipalidad de Magdalena and they estimate to finish by the end of September. The construction for 200 parking spaces has begun, in a 39,000 meters squared space in the Costa Verde. With this, they plan on lowering the wait on the beach lanes for the next edition of Mistura 2016.
Francis Allison, the mayor of Magdalena, was present today when the construction began. Bernando Roca Rey, the president of the Sociedad Peruana de Gastronomía (Apega) also assisted the construction according to El Comercio.
The mayor indicated that Magdalena will invest in the construction some 400 thousand soles to begin with; by September it could raise to a million soles. “The first stage in improving the parking will take three weeks and includes leveling, compaction and placement of crushed rocks,” Allison stated.
This year for Mistura security is said to improve, with four security cameras that will join the eight that are already in the Costa Verde. There will also be two new ways to enter for the disabled near the bridges in the Costa Verde.
Mistura will take place from September 2-11 this year.
