Nature lovers, adventure sport devotees, mountaineers, and film buffs will come together in August of 2014 to celebrate a unique meeting of the two interests at Inkafest Mountain Film Festival.

The tenth edition of Inkafest will take place in Miraflores from August 27 until September 4, 2014. The festival organizers invite filmmakers to submit “anything related to mountains, mountain climbing, expeditions, excursions, spelunking, rock climbing, paragliding, rafting, biking, extreme sports, ecology, protecting the environment, plants, animals, and culture.”

Inkafest’s mission is to “value and support film by concentrating [our] principal actions towards human beings, adventure, the environment, and the world of the mountain.”

According to the festival’s organizers, “Inkafest was conceived in 2005 by the Mountain&Culture association, which is based in Huaraz, Peru. Each edition has allowed [Inkafest] to gain well-deserved prestige on a national and international level as well as to establish important alliances with other mountain film festivals all over the world.”

The deadline for submitting a film for consideration in the festival is June 30. For more information about the contest and how to enter a film, see Inkafest’s official Facebook page, or visit their website.
