Pete Best, better known as The Beatle’s original regular drummer arrived in Peru on Thursday night, El Comercio reported.
Best is scheduled to play at a Beatles tribute concert on Saturday, at Parque de la Exposicion, where he will perform five songs with the group A Day In The Life.
Best was invited to join The Beatles on August, 1960 ahead of the band’s bookings in Hamburg, but was eventually replaced by Ringo Starr.
“I have nothing to forgive the Beatles for what happened long ago,” Best said to El Comercio.
“It changed my life. I can say I learned to not be so innocent. I put what I learned into practice. Now no one can kick me out of my own band,” he said.
On Friday Best will be honored by the Municipality of San Miguel, and named during a ceremony at John Lennon Park.
Best’s replacement, Ringo Starr, will play a show in Lima this November.
