An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale and at 10.7 km depth, struck the Ecuadorian province of Pastaza in the Amazon region of the country. The earthquake reached Iquitos-Loreto and parts of Colombia.
The earthquake was registered at 12:49 pm on Tuesday night, with its epicenter in Pastaza, Ecuador, and a depth of 16,84 kilometers.
Occurring at almost the exact time, 12:11 pm, was a 6.0 magnitude earthquake from Levuka, Eastern, Fiji .
No damages have been reported. However, to prevent any aftershocks, residents in Loreto and Ecuador evacuated buildings and took precautionary measures.
