Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has brought in a new team to spearhead its first-time project on Peru’s economic development and investment opportunities.
Syanna Swyers has been appointed Country Director while Oliver Moss has been handed the position of Editorial Manager for The Report: Peru 2012, OBG’s forthcoming publication which marks a milestone in the Group’s expansion across South America.
Swyers said she was delighted to be playing a key role in setting up OBG’s operations in Peru which, she added, came as the country continued to build on a period of impressive growth across its economy.
“Peru leads the way in South America for GDP growth thanks to prudent economic management and key strategic decisions which are increasing participation from the private sector and driving up foreign investment,” she said “As the country moves forward following the presidential elections, I look forward to meeting the political and business leaders who are shaping Peru’s future at this important juncture in its economic development.”
Moss said that he expected The Report: Peru 2012 to highlight the huge potential for further investment and exploration that the country offered.
“Peru’s strategic location bridging Brazil and the Far East has strengthened its efforts to boost international trade and helped raise its profile on the global business platform,” he said. “I am confident that our highly-anticipated report will capture the country’s ongoing plans to tap investors further and relay the many opportunities that this new era in the country’s development is producing.”
Swyers takes up her new post in Peru after leading OBG’s operations in Bahrain. With a background in project management, her career has taken her across the globe, including stints in Argentina and Brazil.
Moss moves to Peru following a spell in Indonesia where he played a key role producing OBG’s most recent report on the country’s economy. During his career, he has worked extensively across South America and the Caribbean, spending time in Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Abby Lindenberg, OBG’s Regional Director, said the partnership between Swyers and Moss would provide firm foundations for the Group to build up its operations in Peru.
“Both Syanna and Oliver have a thorough understanding of South American cultures, languages and the workings of economies across the region, which will equip them well as they begin the groundwork for our exciting new project in Peru,” she said. “I am confident that their combined expertise and enthusiasm will be instrumental in helping Oxford Business Group produce a groundbreaking launch report on the country, relaying the significant activity taking place across Peru’s economy to global investors.”
The Report: Peru 2012 will mark the culmination of more than six months of on-the-ground research by a team of analysts from OBG. It will provide information on opportunities for foreign direct investment into Peru’s economy and will be a guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, banking and sectoral developments. The Report: Peru 2012 will be available in print form or online.
