Ten Peruvians on Forbes’ Billionaire List

A total of 10 Peruvians have made it onto Forbes’ “World’s Billionaires” list this year.

Eduardo Belmont -- owner of Belcorp, one of Latin America’s top cosmetic companies -- leads the list of Peruvian billionaires with a $6.1 billion net worth, placing him 195 on the list.

Intergroup head Carlos Rodriguez-Pastor was ranked 395 on the list, with a net worth of $3.4 billion, followed by Juan Fernando Belmont ( 670 on the list), with $2.2 billion.

Eduardo Hochschild, chairman of Hochschild Mining and Cementos Pacasmayo, ranked 704 on the list, with a net worth of $2.1 billion.

The rest of the list is made up by: Alberto Benavides (736/$2 billion), Mario Brescia (831/$1.8 billion), Vito Rodriguez (931/$1.6 billion), Jorge Rodriguez (1031/$1.4 billion), Ana Maria Brescia (1088/$1.35 billion), and Rosa Brescia (1088/$1.35 billion).

According to NBC News, this year Forbes has uncovered a record 1,426 billionaires in the world, 200 more than 2012. Last year only Hochschild and Rodriguez-Pastor were included on the list, and were ranked 578 and 634 respectively. 

Mexico’s Carlos Slim led the global list with a net worth of $73 billion, followed by Bill Gates with $67 billion, and Spain’s Amancio Ortega with $57 billion.

The kidnapping of those recently released names of the billionaires is probably being planned as we speak from inside the peruvia
