Over 100 foreign tourists were left stranded in the Colca Valley on Sunday, after landslides blocked access roads to the area, RPP reported.
According to the news radio station, the tourists were left stranded in the province of Caylloma, after the road that connects Cruz del Condor with Chivay was closed due to landslides.
Heavy rains in the region were responsible for the landslides, which occurred near the districts of Achoma and Maca.
The tourists, RPP said, urged local municipal workers to clear the road, so cars could leave the area.
The road closure is the latest incident to strike Arequipa during this year's rainy season.
Last month torrential rains in Arequipa left 5 people dead, and destroyed over 4,000 homes. The heavy rains also destroyed close to 20 kilometers of roads in the region.
