Former President Alberto Fujimori has accused the government of conspiring against him in order to thwart his request for a pardon.

In a new letter, titled ‘Memories from my prison No. 5: Slow death therapy,’ Fujimori claims "people in the government are sabotaging the pardon," El Comercio reported.

The former president also said he never imagined the government would place "so many roadblocks" to his pardon request.

"Not to mention the incursion of the Minister of Justice who has taken photos and videos, of even the toilet," the former president wrote in his letter.

Fujimori once again requested his physicians be included with the medical board that is reviewing his pardon request.

"They know the details of my tongue cancer, my blood pressure and my increasingly severe depression," he said, according to the daily.

Fujimori also said recently released footage from inside the prison, was also an attempt to "bomb the pardon."

"If they want to inform about the true conditions of my confinement, they should open the doors to the press," he said.
