Thousands of tourists are expected to travel to Ayacucho to take part in this year’s Carnaval, Peru21 reported.

According to Carlos Oriundo, Ayacucho’s regional tourism director, the Carnaval is one of the most anticipated events in the country.
This year authorities are predicting around 20,000 tourists will travel to Ayacucho for the Carnaval.
"We are expecting to surpass the figure we achieved last year, with almost 20,000 tourists arriving," Oriundo said.
The region, he said, has collaborated with Promperú for a series of activities, which will run alongside the festival, from February 9 to the 18, the daily reported.
“As always, there will be delicious food and tourist attractions,” he added.
This year several troupes, each made up by over 100 dancers, are expected to partake in the festival.

The photo is so attractive. How I wish I could be at the Carnaval but I won't be leaving for South America until March. May everyone there enjoy it and, as we say in Spanish 'a distrutaaarr!'
