16th Lima Film Festival to kick off on Friday

The 16th Lima Film Festival will begin on August 3 and showcase the best local and international films and documentaries.
The festival, which will run until August 11, will pay tribute to Chilean filmmaker Raul Ruiz who has directed actors like John Malkovich, Daryl Hannah, Marcello Mastroianni, Emmanuele Béart, Isabelle Huppert, Catherine Deneuve, among others.
The festival will also pay tribute to Jorge Vignati, director of photography and cameraman.
The event will feature workshops, exhibits, book presentations and guests will be able to participate in panel discussions.
Films that will compete in the fiction category are from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay.
The judges in this category are filmmaker Fina Torres from Venezuela, director Ana Katz from Argentina; actress Angélica Aragón from Mexico, movie critic, José Carlos Avella from Brazil and actor Salvador del Solar from Peru.
