Organizers for this year’s Mistura food festival have announced that fairgoers will be allowed to use prepaid cards, which would in turn help reduce waiting times.
Fairgoers will be able to purchase cards at Teleticket and Banco Continental, starting on August 1st, Peru21 reported.
The fair, which is slated to open on September 7th, at the Campo de Marte, will feature food from all of Peru’s regions.
On Thursday, organizers announced that 15,000 pre-sale tickets had already been sold. A 75 percent increase over last year, Peru21 said.
About 10,000 foreign visitors are expected to attend this year’s Mistura food festival, according to Bernardo Roca Rey, president of the Peruvian Society of Gastronomy.
"We also expect a significant presence from foreign culinary students, who will be the best promoters of Peruvian food, because they will tell people in their country what is happening in Peru, and we become the benchmark," Roca was quoted as saying in El Comercio.
