On Monday consultancy firm Oxford Business Group presented The Report Peru 2012, a guide to the country’s economic outlook.
The 236-page report contains interviews with several of the country’s most prominent political leaders, such as President Ollanta Humala, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rafael Roncagliolo, Minister of Finance Luis Miguel Castilla, and Julio Velarde, head of the Central Reserve Bank.
The guide also includes interviews with several prominent business executives, such as Roque Benavides, head of the Buenaventura Mining Company, Walter Bayly, CEO of Banco de Credito del Perú, and famed chef Gaston Acurio, among others.
The report also includes analysis of several of the country’s industries, such as mining, energy, banking, agriculture, insurance, telecommunications, and construction.
Peru 2012 is the first time Oxford Business Group has carried out a report about a country in Latin America.
During the official presentation of The Report Peru 2012, Andrew Jeffreys, Oxford Business Group’s editor in chief, stressed Peru’s economic growth, and prudent fiscal management.
He added that Peru still had much more potential to develop, and said the country’s “challenges are much more social than economic.”
