Carsten Korch started LivinginPeru.com in 2006 as a small business directory.
Today marks the launch of PeruthisWeek.com and the new LivinginPeru.com.
Six years after the initial launch of LivingInPeru.com, the LivinginPeru team decided it was time for a change.
“Nothing will be the same and everything will change,” promises LivinginPeru chief editor, Carsten Korch.
“Some of you will love it - others might not, but we are convinced that this is the right moment to become a better portal, to serve you and millions of potential readers around the world,” he said.
Over the last six years, more than 25,000 articles have been read over 25 million times by more than 10 million visitors, and it is expected that these numbers will triple in the next five years.
Everyone at the LIP team has been involved for more than 18 months to launch the new portal. They surfed the world’s news sites, expat services, event calendars, classifieds and more, and learned from the best, before designing and programming the new portals.
All that has been published so far will stay put, but in the future there will be two pages. One will be called PeruthisWeek.com and one will be called LivinginPeru.com. They will be distinct from one another, but always connected.
PeruthisWeek.com will contain the news, travel, food, business, opinion column and culture sections.
LivinginPeru.com will now house the business directory, restaurant guide, entertainment guide, classifieds and yellow pages.
The LivinginPeru team invites it readers to take a look at the BETA version of the portal. Send an email to editor@livinginperu.com with comments of what you think.

Why is there a need to write our names and e-mail addresses to comment if we already are logged in? It seems to me to be something unneccesary. Also the RSS feed is not working for me. Fix this LiP, this is not what I'm paying for. XD

you don't HAVE to pay for membership... this is an invaluable service provided by Carsten and his team, and to complain about having to re-write your email is silly. Thanks LIP - great new sites! /patri.
