Peruvian photographer Mario Testino, one of the world’s most influential and celebrated photographers, has announced the opening of MATE – Asociación Mario Testino.

MATE is a not-for-profit cultural organization that aims to provide a platform for Peruvian artists, locally and internationally.

The organization will also showcase the largest number of Mario Testino’s works in the world, Andina reported.

MATE is situated on Pedro de Osma Avenue, a historic area of Barranco.

“The renovation of MATE's building provides Barranco with a historically beneficial example of Republican architecture, restored in full to its former glory,” MATE said.

“The refurbishment of the Asociación is set to encourage tourism to the area and contribute to the redevelopment of the lively district, acting as a destination to anyone interested in the arts.”

MATE’s inaugural exhibition will be Todo o Nada by Mario Testino, opening on the 17th July 2012.

According to MATE, the exhibition brings together 58 photographs that “reveal the two opposing concepts to be found in Mario Testino's work, fashion and the nude.”

Excellent! Peru has a rich artistic culture that should not be swept aside by profit seekers.

I would like to visit Mario Testino´s exhibition, but cannot find the visiting hours anywhere. Is this exhibition open to the publilc, or was it only a one night celebration??
