American actor Zac Efron has, once again, expressed his desire to visit Machu Picchu.

The star of High School Musical and other film and TV projects appeared on the Rachael Ray Show, and, when asked about his summer plans, said, “I usually like to travel during summer, so I'll probably go to Machu Picchu or something like that. I like to go backpacking and stuff.”

This is not the first time Efron has mentioned the Inca citadel recently. In an interview with the Spanish paper El Mundo in March, the former teen star said that climbing Machu Picchu was one of the things he dreams of doing.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, a Facebook rumor that Efron and fellow actor Taylor Lautner were in Piura generated a frenzy in that city. Over 100 fans, mostly young females, crowded outside the Hotel Río Verde, where the duo were alleged to be staying. Some fans even camped out overnight.

El Comercio checked with immigration authorities; neither actor had entered the country.
