Investment in Peru’s hotel sector will increase between three to four percent this year and will focus on the development of projects in Lima and other provinces, said on Monday Deputy Minister of Tourism Claudia Cornejo.
“I hope we can set up more projects and that will depend on the work we carry out in the country’s tourism sector. This is why it is important to visit other countries and look for investments,” Cornejo told Andina news agency.
Moreover, the Peruvian deputy minister said that she will look for investors from other sectors and invite them to invest in the country’s tourism sector.
“We want to convince them that tourism is an important and profitable sector and that it is part of this year’s agenda,” she said.
Deputy Minister Cornejo also noted that Peru will take part in tourism investment forums in Miami (United States) and Holland.
Also, Cornejo recalled that Lima will host the fifth edition of the South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (SAHIC) 2012 from September 10 to 11.
SAHIC is the annual event of international level aimed at promoting the Hotel and Tourism business and related Real-Estate industry projects in the region, which has become a classic that continues to re-invent itself year after year.
