According to local radio RPP, Manuel Burga, president of the Peruvian Soccer Association (FPF), has been cited by FIFA to travel to Zurich to explain the ongoing crisis in the Peruvian soccer league.

"The union has been communicating with FIFA about things that happen in Peruvian soccer, so Manuel Burga has been scheduled to meet tomorrow in Zurich to clear those concerns," said Javier Quintana, general secretary of the FPF.

Quintana also responded to concerns from fans, who had asked why the federation had allowed the soccer tournament to carry on, even with the ongoing dispute which resulted in professional players going on strike.

“We talked with the association on Thursday, who had called for a meeting on Friday. That day they should have made the decision not to play, but instead, they gave the go ahead and played anyway,” he said to RPP.

In other news, Inti Gas soccer club - who had previously been rumored to have fired it’s entire squad, and coach - said it had not made any formal announcement on the matter, and said it would only fire those who had encouraged the players to miss out on the match.
