Peru police capture six escaped prison inmates

Six of the 17 inmates, who escaped from the Challapalca prison have been captured on the border between Tacna and Puno.
According to El Comercio, the men were captured in Ipiñuma, after a clash with police officers.

At first, the criminals fled, but police in the town roads Mazocruz Puna and two posts were surrounded and arrested by local highway patrol.
Jimenez said Jose Luis Torres Saavedra (aka El Burro), had been among those captured.
According to Peru21, Saavedra is one of the most dangerous criminals in northern Peru, and is thought to be responsible for orchestrating the prison break.
Local radio RPP said there was still no information regarding the remaining fugitives, or if there had been any injuries or fatalities during the clash on Monday.
