On Friday a fire in Mesa Redonda left six people in the hospital.
An explosion occurred inside the shopping center at 5:57 PM.
Witnesses on the scene said the explosion occurred due to electrical issues.
According to El Comercio, there were no serious injuries, and those hospitalized were only treated for smoke inhalation.
Local media reported that two police officers were also injured, after the fire started in La Cochera shopping gallery.
22 other people were treated on the scene, by four ambulances.
The fire chief on site said the fire had been contained and would not spread again.
Last December, the Municipality of Lima had issued a citation, saying La Cochera did not meet safety standards, but the warning was not addressed by local businesses, reported El Comercio.
