What better way to celebrate the month of Peru’s Independence than by receiving a gift yourself?
Throughout the month of July, Inca Rail and Sol y Luna lodge are taking part in a contest promoted by Living in Peru. As you have likely noticed, banners on the news portal have been promoting such a contest since the beginning of this week. With a simple click, users are taken to a brief four-question quiz that is definitely worth a mere two minutes of your time.
The winner will receive the grand prize of a three day, two night stay in a Deluxe Casita in the Sol y Luna lodge in Urubamba, of the Cusco region. Two nights to catch up on sleep in a peaceful setting; three days to explore the surrounding area (or, catch up on more sleep with some lovely naps).

Considering the list of pleasing amenities offered at Sol y Luna lodge (a gourmet restaurant, spa and gym), you may be asking yourself why you would need to leave. Of course, you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to (well, up until those 3 days have passed, that is), but Inca Rail has an offer that just may entice you.
The rail company has included in the package tickets for two aboard a first class train ride from Ollantaytambo to Cusco. Lunch and dinner will be served as you take a pleasant ride towards the Inca citadel and along the Vilconata river. Imagine, catching a midday train ride to Machu Picchu, and enjoying a fresh, locally-sourced lunch to feed the extreme hunger created by your anxiousness to arrive. Then, after a day walking the grounds of the Inca citadel, snapping obligatory selfies with the green hills and grey stones behind you, an evening train awaits to take you and your lucky guest back to the peaceful paradise that is Sol y Luna.

All Living in Peru readers from around the world are invited to participate in the contest. Should you fly in to the Cusco airport, the easiest way to get to Urubamba (where Sol y Luna is located) is either by cab (S/. 160 on average) or combi (S/. 15 on average). As well, it is a simple taxi or combi ride to arrive to the Ollantaytambo train station from your temporary residence at the lodge.
Once the prize has been awarded the offer stands for one year. That’s enough time to make room in your schedule for a dream vacation, right?

One winner will be selected once the contest has officially ended, July 31. An announcement revealing the winner’s name will made in Mr. Living in Peru’s Saturday newsletter, August 3. The prize includes 3 days / 2 nights in the Sol y Luna lodge. While not all amenities and meals at the lodge are included, Day 2 and Day 3’s breakfast buffet is complimentary.
