The new Living in Peru is coming soon, and for this, we ask our beloved readers to lend us a piece of their mind.

Saturday Morning Coffee with Mr. Living in Peru

Dear Reader,

Lately, the LIP team has been working on many new ideas on how to improve what we do for you and the thousands of readers around the globe while serving you the latest updates, news, and stories from and about Peru.

It is a constant process, especially in the digital world which changes every second. We don’t have all the answers nor the money to experiment and do crazy things to see what works and what doesn’t, but we have good ideas and intentions. This alone, however, is not enough.

We need you to tell us what you want. It is not only about content, which for us today is focusing on Travel, Gastronomy, Culture, News, Events and a few “experiments” most seem to enjoy, but also the format. Some readers, prefer long articles with a lot of details, some love short stories that go straight to the essence. Some readers only want us to write about things in Peru.

Others are interested in opinions, the future, education and some are looking for tips that can improve their lives while living abroad. Younger readers tend to leave the reading part to the more adult generation and demand videos and sound clips, which can be consumed instantly from any small or big device and for them, a newsletter isn’t of interest at all. They want everything served through social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so forth.

No, we haven’t made a long survey for you, but if you really want to help us make Living in Peru a better place to learn about Peru, whether you are a tourist, a foodie, hobby archaeologist, a treasure hunter or just happened to love Peru as much as we do, I encourage you to click the “reply” button on your email and share in a few lines, what we need to do to make your favorite website about Peru PERFECT! If we still are not your favorite website about Peru, please tell us why too ;).

On Tuesday, May 23 of next week, we will be polishing the final plan for 2017-2019 and need your input before then.

Please don’t hesitate to send us all your wishes and comments. We have some pretty good ideas, but we don’t want to guess, we want to know what you want! I appreciate that you’re helping us in this process and I am looking forward to hearing back from you and in presenting to you the new Living in Peru shortly.

Have a great weekend – Carsten

For some extra morning fun, check out this video interview of Ed Sheeran where he is asked by Chilean reporters which Pisco he prefers…Boy were they in for a surprise!

P.S. You don’t always get the answer you’re looking for, unless…

Teacher: “If I gave you 2 cats and another 2 cats and another 2, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven.”
Teacher: “No, listen carefully… If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven.”
Teacher: “Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Six.”
Teacher: “Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”
Johnny: “Seven!”
Teacher: “Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!”
Johnny: “Because I’ve already got a freaking cat!”
