A Saturday morning back in Lima, Peru

Greetings from Lima, Peru!

First of all, I’d like to thank you all for your support and interest in Peru during 2016. In many ways it was an interesting year. Peru elected our new president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (PPK), England did a “Brexit,” the U.S. saw Donald Trump take the win, and ISIS is still creating fear in most parts of the world, in particular Europe, where most governments are on alert.

In many ways, 2017 is going to be a very interesting year, and I can say that we also have a surprise or two up our sleeves

Wednesday night, I visited Martin Morales, the founder of London restaurants like Andina, Ceviche Old St. and a few more. I’ve known Martin since 2011 and have been following his adventure, which now includes four restaurants, a record label, art exhibitions and much more. Till this week, I saw Martin as a successful restaurant entrepreneur, which I still do, but I learned so much more about him during my visit to London and I’m so happy to tell you that he is much more than that. He is, without any doubt, Peru’s best ambassador to Great Britain to promote Peruvian food, art and music.

The son of a British father and a Peruvian mother, he received the best from both DNAs and works with passion, love and commitment to show his more than 350,000 annual guests what Peru has to offer.

It is not only in restaurants: he and his committed team are promoting Peru online as well, with things like Ceviche TV, Martin’s YouTube channel. In these videos, he often prepares delicious dishes from Peru and takes you on journeys to know more about Peru. Take a look at some of our favorites here, or take a look at the short video below:

Below you can see that I took a few photos of my visit with my phone and, though they aren’t of the best quality, they give you an impression of what is awaiting you at the Andina and Ceviche Old St restaurants in London next time you stop by for a visit.

Happy New Year and may this be your best year yet!
